Sleight of hand.

Now you see it, now you don’t.

The hand is too quick for your eyes to follow.

My mind is a master of sleight of hand with my own ideas.

My ideas are there and then my mind swishes then away.

Suddenly I’m off focused on something else.

When I try get my thoughts back, I either can’t find them or they’re not the same.

Can you relate?

What to do?

My best method to interrupt my mind’s sleight of hand is to use the Notes app on my phone.

I’ve conditioned a very simple habit - when I have an idea I IMMEDIATELY open the app and either type it or voice prompt it.

Success of this habit hinges on the immediacy of capturing the thought.

Sometimes I just capture the essence.

Other times I’ll extrapolate a little more.

No pressure - just capture it.

This simple habit has changed my life.

I no longer lose moments of creativity, clarity and inspiration.

As I engage with my notes, they deepen and sharpen in expression.

Then I voice and action them out in the world to serve others.

Anything you’ve ever read from me has likely been created using this method.

So simple. Yet I’m so grateful for the habit.

How do you stop your mind’s sleight of hand and how has it impacted your life?
