Your lens of perspective can be positive or negative. In reality, both are possible – you can take any circumstance of your life and write 2 plot lines – one positive and one negative. Do you gravitate to one versus the other?

Let’s face it, life isn’t easy, so negativity can come naturally. It is the default byproduct of all the challenges and frustrations that we encounter.

A sustained negative lens will never serve you well. Sure, it creates some short term, indulgent comfort because it allows you to focus on people and circumstances other than you.

But the downside is huge – by consistently adopting a negative lens, we are lulled into inaction and tragically deny ourselves the value that comes from overcoming life’s challenges and frustrations.

Conversely, a positive lens has all of your power. It is the mental flip of engagement to take control of your circumstances.

A challenge may frustrate, but conquering that challenge empowers.

Your negative lens deprives you of fulfillment. Your positive lens promises to create fulfillment.

In reality, we have hundreds of opportunities every day to exercise our positive lens. It’s easy to say, but much harder to do.

That’s why I encourage you to set the standard at “Choose your perspective with intent.”

Choose. It’s your free will. And it’s active – how are you leveraging your free will to drive your positive perspective?

Choose with….Intent! How much of your day is going through the motions without even thinking about it? Your negative lens loves the passivity of routine. Living, and choosing, with intent is the key to breaking into a consistently positive perspective.

A positive perspective has unlimited potential to make a meaningful difference in every aspect of your life. But it requires commitment and a consistent, deliberate effort.

Which plot line will you choose?
