Be willing to be bad at something.
We don’t try new things because we are not willing to be “bad” at them.
We get frustrated when we do not have immediate proficiency.
We have unrealistic expectations.
We need to embrace the rewards of an unknown journey and give ourselves the runway to make progress.
In reality, we are not immediately thrust under lights and judging eyes, but our inner fear and pride projects those stakes as a means of shutting us down before we begin.
Personal growth often begins with a seed of humility - allow yourself to be quietly bad at something while you nurture that interest with the sunlight and water of hard work and patience.
When have you allowed yourself the vulnerability of being bad at something and what became of that experience?
When have you shut yourself down from growth? That runway is still there, waiting for you, but it won’t be there forever. Take the journey!
